The details

Okeanos was the eldest of the Titans. Son of Uranos (Heaven) and Gaia (Earth), he was the origin of freshwater, god of rivers, lakes and rain clouds.

With 280 days of annual precipitation. "Okeanos rising" was an obvious symbol for Bergen rising as a tournament location and destination for Warhammer 40K events.

The announced changes to missions and layouts have been executed. Please give these a good look

    NOTE:

If you drop from the 2026 event, you ticket will be moved to the 2027 event and you will have a free ticket there regardless of price. You will also be given free tickets to all our local events. We'll change this policy if we manage to get additional funding from private sector. Otherwise we will be running a deficit for 2026.

For 2027 we are hoping to have our budget sorted to such a degree that we can offer complete refunds for anyone, but for 2026 we are currently operating with a significant deficit.

We ask for understanding in this policy, as we try to make the event economically self-sufficient.

Ticket Insurance: Checkin does offer ticket insurance for a small fee. If you fear you might miss out and don't simply want you ticket moved to the next event. This is a good option. As stated, we will start providing full refunds on request as soon as the event is solvent (2027 hopefully). For 2026 we will be running with a deficit regardless of ticket sales.

Schedule

For 2026 we have made a few minor changes to the schedule. Dinner on saturday is extended from 60 minutes to 90 minutes. This will allow people to more easily visit restaurants in the area and enjoy a proper break where they can see the city. Lunch is cut to 45 minutes.

We start 4th match 0900 on Sunday. This is to ensure we can do awards properly and have room for the streaming of a proper closing ceremony, if we get the finances sorted.

For Okeanos Rising 2026 we have switched some of the rooms and will now be using, among others, the much larger Per Gynt hall.

750sqm of space for tournament play.

Outside there is another 800 sqm over three floors to be used for mingling, social activity and exhibitions.

The match details

New season rules

Playerpack to be published

Close-up pictures of terrain pieces will be provided before tickets go on sale

For Okeanos Rising 2026 we are printing brand new terrain.

The gallery below shows the primary tournament terrain. So far we are printing the Imperial version, but will be expanding the range with Ork, chaos, Necrons and maybe more.

Both terrain sets can be bought through our ticket system by attendees.

In addition to the foldable terrain, designated "top tables" will use a non-foldable multi-coloured terrain type.

Pictures will be uploaded once we have printed our first set.

Regarding the "best painted army"- competition

Albert Moreto Font and Angelo Di Chello will be judging the "Best Painted Army" - Competition.

Before breaking for dinner, all participants entering the competition will put their armies on display at a designated spot in the Per Gynt Hall.

Winner will be announced during the awards ceremony after the 5th match.

Security

The rooms containing models will be locked for the night and everything will be safe.

During the active hours there are multiple security guards roaming the venue along with voluntary staff from the organizer.

We are not promoting the event to an audience for 2026, but will are selling audience tickets. We don`t expect a meaningfull audience for the event, but we are using the 2026 expansion event to practice audience flow and risk management with regards to the safety of models, exhibitions and other valuables at the event.

Experiences gained and feedback from attendees on the topic of audience handling and experienced security, will be valuable as we plan for the 2027 expansion event, which will be promoted county-wide in the hope of drawing a larges audience to experience the event we are building.

Streaming at the event

For this event we are planning for both internal and extermal streaming.

We intend to stream at least one table, but are also looking into streaming of the overall event. With particular focus on an opening and closing ceremony. It will take some time to acquire an appreciation of the technical issues, scale and cost.

We are in dialogue with potential streaming parties and hope to announce something concrete soon. All participants should be prepared for the possibility of cameras at the venue.

Missions and layouts:

Scorched Earth on Tipping Point with Layout 2

Terraform on Crucible of Battle with Layout 6

Linchpin on Search and Destroy with Layout 1

Purge the Foe on Hammer and Anvil with Layout 7

Take and Hold on Tipping Point with Layout 8

Important regarding Missions and layouts:

Update October 16th:

Match 1 and 2 have switched places.

Match 3: Search and Destroy changed from layout 4 to layout 1

Match 4: Hammer and Anvil changed from layout 1 to layout 7

Match 5 has been replaced with "Take and Hold on Tipping Point with Layout 8".

We believe these changes help the overall balance and flow of the tournament and helps elevate the player experience.

We do not expect any further changes.

Access to missions and layouts at venue

Each table at the tournament will be equipped with both a number and a QR code. The Code will provide quick access to missions and deployments.

Note: Terrain piece presentations will be done digitally with a solution we are looking into.

Prizes

These are still being developed and some available prizes are not yet assigned a placing. The table below will be updated as we get closer.

1st place: Okeanos Tournament Trophy, Free ticket to Okeanos Rising 2027, Free choice of one terrain set ,Diploma

2nd place: Refund of ticket for Nidaros Grand Tournament*, 40K model sets, Diploma

3rd place: Refund of ticket for Nidaros Grand Tournament*, 40K model sets, Diploma

4th place: Refund of ticket for Nidaros Grand Tournament*

5th place: Refund of ticket for Nidaros Grand Tournament*

Mid-table (two players): Refund of ticket for Nidaros Grand Tournament*, Diploma

Last place: "Surprise", Diploma

Prizes will be developed from year to year until we achieve the standard and breadth we are aiming for.

Part of our prize policy is to also serve the goals of the "Union of Boardgamers", one of which is collaboration with other tournaments and to increase the attendance at other events.

For 2026 we are experimenting with our prize policy in order to work towards the above mentioned goals. To that end we are also working towards providing meaningful prizes for a wider range of participants than those in the top three places.

*Participants awarded ticket refunds for Nidaros Grand Tournament (NGT), will be provided said refund after their attendance has been confirmed by NGT staff. We will forward a list of players to NGT. Those whose attendance is confirmed by NGT, will receive a full refund for their ticket at NGT May 2026. We hope this will stimulate more players to attend more tournaments, but also to put on their best effort even if their only hope is to end up in the mid-table.

The venue is situated at the very center of the city. Trains and buses from the airport or other cities all have their stop at "Bergen Storsenter" which is within 3 minute walking distance from the venue.

There are restaurants and supermarkets everywhere around the venue, but food and drink can also be pre-ordered at the venue.
